The Antiques Weekend starts on the Friday with late night shopping fir antiques. Saturday begins with a Vintage & Classic Car Parade town the main street
The parade makes its way to the Paeroa Domain where there is an old fashioned tea party with Devonshire scones under the large spreading tree, creating the atmosphere of a picnic from the old days, topped off by all the cars arriving and parking up for judging and display for the afternoon. there are games for the children to play and a giant chess set for the adults and sausages on a BBQ to fill the gaps.
Sunday marks the running of an Antiques Roadshow just like you see on TV where you can bring your treasures to be valued by the experts. Others might prefer to join in the Mystery Car Rally and have a little tour around the countryside while following the instructions on the sheet provided.
A good fun weekend where you are encouraged to bring out the best of the past, wear stylish clothes and drive beautiful cars from a bygone era.

New Zealand’s toughest one day cycle race!
2012 sees the 11th K2 race take place.
Every year the event starts in a different Coromandel Peninsula town, circumnavigating the Peninsula. There are a range of different options for various abilities, with the full 200km solo race probably the toughest one day road cycle race in the Southern hemisphere! There are three races, the 200km K2, the 100km Pearl Izumi K1 and the 50km 1/4 K race.
This event continues to draw some of New Zealand's best cyclists like Sarah Ulmer, along with those just wanting to "knock the b****d off!". The people of the Coromandel come out in droves to cheer the 1000 odd cyclists on along the way. The locals know too well that tackling the hills of the Coromandel takes true courage and determination!
THIS RACE IS ONE OF FIVE AWESOME EVENTS ORGANISED EACH YEAR BY OUR ADVENTURE RACING GURUS - ARC

Off road trail run with a difference!
Around 150 years ago most of the Coromandel peninsula was covered in Kauri Forest. Today very little remains of the original forest.
This off road run will take competitors from Waikawau Farm Park, up and along the Central divide and into the township of Coromandel. The run will be will take between 2 and 5 hours. It’s a tough run, but scenically very beautiful with views of both the Pacific Coast and Firth of Thames. There will also be a shorter run of between 1 and 2 ½ hours.
ARC's vision is to plant a Kauri tree along the route for every competitor that takes part in the race and so that gradually over the years their will be an avenue of Kauri trees to run along.
