A mineralogical museum with an extensive collection – a must for rock hounds and specialists.
Open Wed-Sun 11am-3pm. Extended hours in Summer.

Coromandel School of Mines Museum
Kapanga Road, Coromandel Town
See displays of the history of gold, first found here in 1852.
Open 7 days over summer 10am-4pm. Sat & Sun 1.30-4pm Winter.

Waihi Arts Centre & Museum
Kenny Street, Waihi
A treasure trove of the mining,
metallurgy and sociology of the region.
Open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm
Weekends & public holidays 1.30- 4pm.

Paeroa Museum
Belmont Street, Paeroa
Depicts the gold mining heritage of the district with a fine collection of Maori artifacts and a Royal Albert china collection.
Open Mon-Fri 10.30am-3pm and by arrangement.
