Ohinemuri Winery
Ohinemuri Estate is in the heart of the Karangahake Gorge. It comes complete with a boutique winery, restaurant and friendly hospitality.
Your host, Horst, trained in the Rheingau region of Germany, studied in Wurzberg and worked in different regions of Germany and Switzerland before coming to New Zealand.
Nestled high above the Ohinemuri River the buildings were designed and built in Latvian style. Being only 200m off the main highway the Estate is easily accessible but distant enough to be quiet and relaxing.
It is a great place to stop off while cycling the Hauraki Rail Trail or walking the beautiful Karangahake Gorge which is famed for its history, walking tracks and sheer beauty.
A self-contained loft apartment is also available.
