Luke Shadbolt shoots The Coromandel

Luke Shadbolt is a professional photographer and creative director from Australia. He has a love of surf photography and focuses his lens on action sports, travel destinations and fashion.  Check him out on Instagram.

Luke came to The Coromandel with a cinematographer to shoot video for Tourism New Zealand and Flight Centre, and while he was here, he visited some of our sweet spots.

Filming cyclists on the Hauraki Rail Trail from the back of the rental car, Luke had time to stop at the stunning staircase Owharoa Falls in the Karangahake Gorge.

As Luke's adventures took him north, he spent the night at Hahei Holiday Resort, but was up to catch sunrise at Cathedral Cove.

After an action-packed day out on the water with Cathedral Cove Kayaks, he relaxed in the natural thermal waters at The Lost Spring, hidden in downtown Whitianga. After a pick me up at The Lost Spring Cafe, Luke headed to Kuaotunu for the night, spending the evening at Luke's Kitchen.  Back at the bach for a good night's sleep, the view from the deck over the bay was a perfect end to his Coromandel adventure.
