Long Bay Guided Kauri Forest Experience

This complimentary guided walk with track ambassadors is an awesome opportunity to visit a beautiful kauri forest and help to keep kauri safe. Also to understand the significance kauri play in the unique ecology of our forests.

About

Thanks to the generous funding and support from the Ministry of Primary Industries, Coromandel Kauri Dieback Forum and TCDC, Coromandel Adventures are privileged to be operating a track ambassador and complimentary guided walk programme at Long Bay this Summer.

A great team of local guides and ambassador is ready to show you the magic story of the role kauri play in our environment and why they are so important for our future.

The one-hour loop track passes by a spectacular 1200-year old kauri, through a regenerating kauri ricker grove and mixed native forest.  Contune if you wish to to enjoy a beautiful coastal walk.

The programme will be operating daily through the school holidays and the weekends until Easter. The track ambassadors will be on site for 4hours a day – subject to suitable weather conditions.

Note: We should all avoid kauri forests when conditions are wet as this is when the kauri dieback organism is most active and most easily spread.

Check the website for the availability of guided tours and to book your spot as group numbers are limited .
