You'll be picked up at your accommodation on the southern Coromandel Peninsula and we'll tour over spectacular volcanic mountains into the beautiful Waikato region, famous for its dairy farming and international horse breeding. Enjoy a guided tour of “Middle Earth” on a picturesque, private sheep farm near Matamata. Here, you'll visit the movie set where “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” movies were filmed. After lunch, the tour heads back to the Coromandel Peninsula stopping and exploring the site of an old gold mine, and marvellous engineering from over 100 years ago. We also stop at a spectacular beach to observe wildlife and scenery, before returning to your accommodation.
