On Day 1 we’ll take a short walk through old gold mining tunnels in an area of New Zealand’s most productive gold mines. Marvel at the amazing engineering and tenacity of the old miners from 100 years ago. Also visit the highest waterfall in the North Island–spectacular. Day 2 is a delightful sample of the Coromandel Peninsula’s natural heritage and scenic beauty. Visit an historic gold cave, now home to sparkling glow worms. Enjoy the mineral water at the famous Hot Water Beach (tide permitting). On Day 3, we’ll make our way to Auckland via the Thames Coast and picturesque farmland. We’ll stop for photos and short walks including a visit to giant Kauri trees, standing majestically among the world’s largest tree ferns.
