This track takes you to one of the best remaining stands of Kauri on the peninsula, a walk through
luxuriant and diverse forest - from Nikau to tree fern to Kauri.
This is another historic walk that takes you past mining remnants. Time: 2.5 hours return. Tip: Walkers will need to be prepared to cross a number of shallow fords and creeks. In some cases swing bridges are an alternative to getting wet feet and add a great dimension to the journey.
