Ruanga Te ao - Above The World
Rising 528 meters above sea level, Runga Te ao, once a land of mighty kauri with gold beneath its surface, is rich with history. This scenic 13 ha area features the Omahu Mail Trail, which links Puriri with Whangamatā and reveals remnants of the Klondyke mine, mature native bush, kauri groves, and surveyors camps. The aim of this area is to develop walking and cycling trails as well as accommodation in a thriving ecosystem.
