Moehau Environment Group's Tamariki for Trees planting project is a living classroom and a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving Northern Coromandel's natural beauty. Established in 2000, Moehau Environment Group is dedicated to protecting and enhancing this region’s environment.

Since 2007, Moehau Environment Group has partnered with Colville School to develop the Children’s Forest in Waikawau Bay. What was once farmland is now a thriving native forest, thanks to the ongoing efforts of volunteers and tamariki who return each year to care for the land. The Children’s Forest is just one of several sites where tamariki actively plant native trees.

Why Plant Here?

  • Help transform coastal land into a sanctuary for wildlife and a cherished space for all.
